Could you please answer the following questions in the comments section of this post so I can share them in my presentation. Thanks!

(1) What has been your favourite digital activity so far this semester (blogging, Twitter, etc.) Why did you enjoy this activity so much?

(2) What is the most surprising/interesting this you have learned this semester about the digital world?

(3) What advice, suggestions, recommendations do you have to the school board about the digital future  of schools?

(4) Any other comments about this course and our digital journey you would like to share?

  1. My favorite digital activity so far in this course the blogging because of how personal you can make it through writing and pictures. The most surprising thing I've learned is how difficult it can be to fit what you want to say under 140 characters. I don't have any other comments or advice

  3. My favorite digital activity had to be the blogging as well. Twitter wasn't something I thought I would enjoy but it for sure isn't as bad as I had previously thought. I loved being able to personalize it and use it as a tool to get my creativity out into the world, if only a little bit. The most surprising thing and for sure the most interesting was the black out poetry. I loved the transformation process and seeing the article turn into something completely your own. I recommend this method to the board because technology is something humanity is beginning to depend on so why not run with it? You will never be able to keep smartphones out of the school so why not let them be put to good use to further our education? Those are my only comments.

  5. My favourite digital activity would have to be the twitter fiction and how different it was from everything I have done up to now. I was surprised to see another world full of authors and just ordinary people who are using these sites to be creative. I wish we could use our devices on the school wifi so we could bring our devices with what we are familiar with and even bring it home to work on.

  7. My favorite digital activity is probably blogger because you can do alot more things! Twitter is alot more restricted.

The most surprising thing i learned this semester about the digital world is probably how your digital footprint really stays with you.

    SCHOOL BOARD OPEN THE WIFI.

  9. Life would be so much easier if we had wifi. It would help in our studies in all classes! My favourite digital activity is blogging and I was surprised how many authors use the internet as a way to reach out to their audiences!

  11. My favourite digital activity was blogging. I really like blogging because there is no limit to how much you can write, and you can also post videos and pictures as well. The most surprsing this that I have learned about the digital world is how you can really use the technology to your advantage and create a good professional image of yourself. I think the course would be a lot better if the school board allowed the students to use the wifi!

  13. My favourite digital activity so far this semester was the blogging. I really enjoyed how personal you could get into it and from just reading other peoples entries, I felt like I actually knew who they were and that we were almost friends in a weird sort of way. Something that surprised me was how many authors actually use the internet to reach out to their readers (such as John Green)

School board, I feel that if you made wifi more accessible to students that it would really help us out with our studies.

  15. I thought blogging was a cool way to get to know everyone a bit and express myself. Blogging also allowed a lot of freedom that we don't often get in any other classes. I've learnt that the digital world can actually seem quite small when you actually try to take any party in it. I agree that it would be a good Idea to open up the wifi as soon as possible to students. The computers are constantly not working and seeing that most students have something that could connect to the wifi, classes would be less limited when the computers are out or all booked up.

  17. My favorite digital activity would blogging for the way each person made it so unique and personal.
The best thing I learned was how you have many opportunities digitally that can open doors for you if you use them wisely. School board, it would be great if the WiFi was open so that we wouldn't depend so much on computers (that not always work well) to do out school work.
I wish we had the opportunity to use technology more in other courses too, in more creative ways than just to Google things and write essays.

  19. I enjoy the variety of the assignments and freedom allotted to use due to the use of computers and more technologically advanced means.

Also, the wifi being locked is pretty annoying.

  21. I really like using Blogger, because there is just so much freedom to write what we want, or what we're thinking. It's also a cool way to just put stuff out there for ourselves. What I found surprising was how deep some of our digital footprints go, and how they just keep growing. However, this class – or just school in general – would be a lot easier with student wifi.

  23. My favorite activity this semester would have had to be the twitter fictions. I really liked having a place to publish my work and having the critiques of the rest of the class.
I guess the most surprising thing I learn was, one twitter is not just a site where people stock celebrities, and two what we do online has a really big effect on how people perceive us.
If I could recommend anything it would be that the school open the wifi to students. I myself would greatly benefit from this since I have my own laptop that I use at the school and since we don't have wifi I have to spend an extra $15 a month to get enough data on my phone and I pay to share it with my laptop.
Anyway I also know a lot of people who don't have internet on their phone and can get it on a device so if the school laptops aren't working or if we don't have the cart they end up behind.
Thanks for listening, I for one love the tech aspect of anything and I'm really happy with how digital thus school is becoming.

  25. My favorite digital activity was Blogger, there is so much you can do and it's a great way to share your work and ideas.

The most interesting thing I learned about the digital world was how easy it can be to share your thoughts and creativity through sources such as Twitter.

I think it would greatly benefit the students if we were allowed to use smartphones in class to help with work, and if we had access to wifi.

  27. So far my favorite digital activity this semester has been using twitter to create short stories. I really enjoyed the challenge of having to limit each tweet in my story to 140 characters. It challanged me as a writer also in the fact that each tweet had to be connected to the previous and some how had to keep the flow of the story going. I also liked twitter because it was a place everyone could share their stories and it's worldwide meaning anyone in the world could stumble across my story. It was a way I could promote my writing. In fact, that's one of the things I learnt to be most true this semester. The digital world gives us the ability to promote ourselves and our work to the world. Our blogs, twitter etc… if I could make one suggestion to the school board it would be to allow the students wifi access. That way we could use our own devices instead of these slow computors and we wouldn't be limited to working only on the days our class has the computors booked.

  29. My favourite digital activity this year has been Twitter because it gave me an opportunity to show a much larger audience my work. The most surprising thing was how many people were actually seeing my blog. Blogger tracks the views to your blog, and it’s really interesting to see that people from all around the world are seeing the stuff I created. The only suggestion that I can come up with is open up the internet, and remove the restrictions. Sure the risk is still there that kids might look up inappropriate material, but the same happens with books. I’ve seen kids reading Fifty Shades of Gray at school, and no one seems to care about that. The fact is if kids want to look at that stuff they will, and they will, and have from what I’ve seen found a way around your restrictions. If you’re worried about viruses, get a really good virus scanner, but if you want to move forward with this type of program you have to put some more trust in the students, we’re not all hoodlums.

  31. My favourite digital activity has been keeping up a personal blog. This is something I would’ve never done before due to lack of interest and things to write about, but having some guidance when it comes to what is necessary to post has made it much more manageable. For our personal blog additions, we have full creative freedom, meaning that we can discuss whatever it is that interests us and watch our blogs grow, so it’s nice not to be limited to specific topics, writing forms, etc. Something surprising that I’ve learned about the digital world is that social media can be used for much more than just communication and entertainment. One can share useful facts, their talents, and even educate others through it. It was Twitter that led to this revelation. A recommendation of mine would be to open up Wi-Fi to students. This course has been a little challenging with many sites being blocked and the lack of computer availability on a daily basis. I feel like many students would benefit from being able to connect to Wi-Fi and so many things wouldn’t be left to be done at home, making it easier to focus on the point of the course and keeping up in general. My last comment about the course is how much it has changed my writing. I’ve never been comfortable with writing my views or opinions, and this course took me out of my comfort zone and opened me up a little bit. It is also one of the only classes that has touched me on a more personal level and provoked thought while serving as a bit of inspiration for my life.

  33. The thing I enjoyed using the most was the blog, it gave digital experience without takin me out of my comfort zone like twitter did. I did not learn anything I didn't know before but I was able to experience things that I would not have tried on my own allowing to find out more about what I liked and didn't like to do. I would dearly suggest getting wifi in the school, with all the knew programs students are being fouced to coup with, such as online math on top of their homework) they are going to desperately need a way of accessing the Internet. I believe that some digital programs should be left up to a student whether they want to do it or not. although gaining new experiences is extremely useful in the future, constant activities can make students have a resentment to the program, and in turn be less likely to perform well in the future.
